Arguably THE VERY BEST place in Ecuador for birdwatchers.
There are many other places in Ecuador with AMAZING birdwatching opportunities, don´t get me wrong. I´m not denying the other places ( many) that we have in Ecuador.
The thing is that this place is the closest to a major city ( Guayaquil) with a 24/7 international airport, which by the way is THE GATEWAY TO THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS.
So yes, it is indeed the very best place for birdwatching.

Yeah, this was just one casual trip, not a particularly dedicated "birdwatching tour". But hey, they ´re there always.

So these photos are just a few and just to make my point and why I dare say: "THE BEST PLACE IN ECUADOR FOR BIRDWATCHERS" bar none.
And located only 25 miles away ( 45 minutes car ride through the countryside) away from Guayaquil.
And the landscape that surrounds the place...
UNBELIEVEABLE...
Did I mention that we have howler monkeys there too? No???
Well we do.
This adventure usually ends at a CACAO FARM where we enjoy a traditional ecuadorian meal for lunch. ( but this is topic of conversation for another day )
